Position: Flow Cytometry Technician
The Flow Cytometry and Cell Sorting Core Facility is seeking an exceptional candidate to fill the full-time position of Flow Cytometry Technician (currently listed as research technician III). Salary will be commensurate with applicable experience and qualifications. Excellent benefits include employer contributed 401(k), medical, dental and vision. Duties:
- - Independently operating flow cytometry instrumentation for analysis and cell sorting
- - Interacting with researchers for experiment set-up, scheduling and sorting/analysis of samples, and helping with equipment questions and problems
- - Assisting in daily operation of facility including monitoring equipment usage and reagent supply and recording billing time
- - Troubleshooting instruments and interacting with Service Engineers
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in a basic science or equivalent education and work experience. A combination of education and/or experience in flow cytometry, including analysis and cell sorting is desirable but not essential since full training will be given. Basic computing skills are required including the ability to work in both a Macintosh and PC. Excellent command of oral and written English language and interpersonal skills are essential.
Our Instrumentation:
Our growing Cytometry and Cell Sorting Core Facility houses the nation's first five-laser BD LSRFortessa as well as a BD FACS AriaII, a BD FACS AriaI BD FACS CantoII and a BD LSRII as well as a Viability Analyzer and Automated Magnetic Bead Cell Separator.
