The annual GLIIFCA meeting provides a welcoming venue to practitioners of cytometry and image analysis from all specialties and at all levels of expertise, as well as providing for excellent networking opportunities and a dose of fun. The Program Committee, under the guidance of Paul Wallace (President), with Michael Sramkoski and Vera Donnenberg, has put together an excellent program. Highlights include:
- Friday night is the opening mixer with a host of technical talks to showcase the latest developments in flow & image cytometry.
- Saturday features sessions covering topics in clinical cytometry, stem cell applications and imaging innovations. The Carleton and Sigrid Stewart Lecture will be given by Bruce Bagwell, MD, PhD. Also featured will be a poster session and the luncheon roundtable discussions—select you choice upon registration.
- Saturday night you are invited to celebrate our Prom Year — see attached invitation. All ‘Flow-ers of the Night’, are cordially invited to the Class of 2008’s prom night, surely to be ‘A Night to Remember’. Dress for prom as you would like it, wish it was, or remember it to be.
- Sunday offers the chance to learn about novel technical innovations in cytometry and imaging.
- The popular pre-meeting Core Managers Workshop will be held on Friday, September 19th — come for the chance to discuss core management related topics with a group of your peers. Topics covered will include biosafety in sorting, marketing your services, and an update on the QC initiative.
Travel and poster awards are available to help defray travel costs for all students, technicians and post-docs. Please distribute this announcement to colleagues you feel might benefit from GLIIFCA. See the website: http://www.gliifca.org for complete program information.
