Intended Audience

The Clinical Flow Cytometry Course is designed to meet the needs of individuals from a wide variety of backgrounds. Participants have included attending physicians, residents, clinical fellows, research investigators, graduate students, and individuals from the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries. Course Objectives Participants will learn:

  • The basic principles of flow cytometry including specimen preparation, fluidics, electronics, and fluorochrome selection.
  • How to design and optimize flow cytometry procedures
  • How to implement routine measures to standardize and ensure quality of flow cytometric procedures.
  • Special flow cytometric applications for clinical use, including functional assays, bead-based assays, rare event analysis, and others.

Conference Fee

Full Conference: The course fee of $1200 includes the cost of tuition, materials, continental breakfasts, lunches, refreshment breaks, Thursday night banquet, and a nonrefundable registration fee of $50. Should you cancel your registration up to 72 hours prior to the conference, you will be refunded the entire conference fee except the $50 nonrefundable portion. No refunds will be made after that time. Lectures Only: The fee to attend all lectures on Sunday and daily lectures from 8:00 – 9:00 a.m. Monday through Friday is $100. The fee includes continental breakfast, lunch and breaks on Sunday; continental breakfast on Monday through Friday, and handouts each day.

Conference Housing

A block of rooms has been reserved at the conference site, The Best Western Inn Towner. Please contact the hotel directly to arrange your accommodation. To receive the special room rate of $99/night please mention “UWCCC, Clinical Flow Cytometry Course” to the hotel staff when making your reservation. Rooms will be available at this rate for reservations made before July 7, 2008. After this date, rate and availability cannot be guaranteed.

Conference Attire

Casual attire is appropriate for this conference. Since meeting room temperatures and personal comfort levels vary, it is recommended that you bring a sweater or jacket to the educational activity.
