Description

The Systems Validation Specialist II participates in the creation and execution of system validation activities throughout all phases of the product development process for complex flow cytometry systems.  Participates in the development of validation plans, protocols, design reviews, and final reports.  Executes validation protocols and analyzes results. Interacts with program personnel to analyze and recommend solutions to complex flow cytometric system workflows and customer issues. Maintains relevant customer knowledge through interaction with customers, Technical Application Specialists, relevant trade shows and journal review. Provides “voice of the customer” information to Cell Analysis product development teams. Serves as a technical resource for systems engineers, product development teams and other Cell Analysis business programs as required.

Will assist in preparing and presenting all design reviews and final reports resulting from validation activities under the direction of the systems validation manager. Provides technical expertise to teammates and validation specialists, may be asked to operate independently on a wide scope of tasks within the laboratory and on various teams within the business unit under the supervision of the systems validation manager.

The Systems Validation Specialist II is expected to help set own project goals through knowledge of Systems Validation procedures, product development SOPs, plans and goals. Exercises judgment within generally defined practices and departmental standard operating procedures in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a Bachelor's degree
• A minimum of 3 years experience hands on laboratory experience.
• A minimum of 3 years flow cytometry experience.

Assets

• BS degree in Biology, Immunology, Cell Biology or Medical Technology
• Current knowledge of routine and advanced flow cytometric applications used in the clinical, pharmaceutical and research markets including associated reagents, hardware and software.
• Current knowledge of customer workflow in clinical, pharmaceutical and research flow cytometry laboratories.
• Demonstrated ability to perform detail-oriented work with a high degree of accuracy.
• Able to communicate coherently and effectively and be able to persuade in the absence of authority.
• Possess and demonstrate the ability to apply creative problem solving skills to novel and sometimes complex flow cytometry applications.
• Able to effectively organize and present information in a variety of formats.
• Proficient technical writer.
• Demonstrated ability to follow established policies and procedures.
• Self-starter and capable of executing responsibilities with minimal supervision.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
