Cytometry continues to grow as a strong platform for analyses of external as well as internal cell parameters, such as cell surface expression profiles, cytoskeleton, and signal transduction. Whereas conventional flow cytomtery and fluorescence imaging continue to be highly employed, newer advances in technology such as Laser Scanning Cytometry coupled with confocal microscopy are finding their way not only in the pre-clinical settings but also in the clinical laboratory environment. ISAC has over the years served as the champion organization for advancing the development and use of this technology in the biomedical research arena. With a committed and strong leadership, I see the light brighter than ever at the horizon for pushing this technology as an established platform in clinical diagnosis, treatment follow-up, and bio-marker discovery.
