2007 Annual Research Course in Flow Cytometry

Los Alamos, New Mexico, June 9-15, 2007

Sponsored by: The National Flow Cytometry Resource (NFCR) and Verity Software House

Dear FLOWers:

The National Flow Cytometry Resource at the Los Alamos National Laboratory will be hosting the 30th Annual Research Course in Flow Cytometry. The course fee of $1,700 includes a welcoming reception on Saturday evening, lunches during the week, two evening sessions with refreshments and a banquet on Thursday evening. Complete information is available on the NFCR home page at: http://nfcr.lanl.gov/.

Course Description

A methods course in flow cytometry will be offered with special emphasis on applications in cell biology, immunology and screening. The faculty consists of distinguished members of the flow cytometry community. This course will be aimed toward individuals with several years of experience in flow cytometry; very little basic material will be presented. Each participant will receive extensive lecture notes and laboratory hand-out materials. Course lecturers and their presentation subjects are listed below. In addition, there will be two informal evening sessions, one on Biosafety/Core Operator issues and one on state-of-the-art flow instrumentation at the NFCR. Finally, there will be a Special Lecture on applications of flow cytometry to analytical chemistry by Dr. Norman Dovichi of the Department of Chemistry, University of Washington.
