Cytometry has had a tremendous impact on many areas of biological sciences. This documentary outlines the invention of the cell sorter in 1965 by Mack Fulwyler. One of the goals of this documentary is for us to understand what the impact of cytometry has had over the past 40 years. There are still many opportunities and many problems to solve – the biggest perhaps being the tragedy of 30 million AIDS victims in Africa. I hope that that this documentary inspires you to consider how you can use your science to impact the health and welfare of people around the world. Every little bit helps.
