Marie Curie Transfer of Knowledge Fellowships

The Centre of Excellence for Research on Aging (CeSI; www.fondazioneunich.it/cesi/) is a newly opened biomedical research centre in Central Italy, offering state-of-the-art platforms for genomic, proteomic and clinical research in a dynamic and collaborative environment.

The group of Cancer Pathology at CeSI (PI Saverio Alberti, MD, PhD) is seeking 3 highly motivated Marie Curie Fellows to work on the definition of the signaling network and 3D structure of key regulatory proteins of growth and apoptosis in cancer cells. The ultimate goal of the project is the identification of candidate biochemical targets for novel diagnostic, prognostic and therapeutic procedures. Research activities will develop at the interface between molecular biology, immunology, flow cytometry, structural biology and bioinformatics.

The successful applicants will hold a PhD and/or an MD, with a strong track record in molecular biology and protein biochemistry; additional experience in immunology and flow cytometry and/or protein structure prediction and bioinformatics will be considered very favourably. Emphasis will also be given to interactive skills and previous experience in multidisciplinary environments.

Gross salaries of 46,671 euro/year (intermediate; more than 4 years of experience) or 70,007 euro/year (senior; more than 10 years of experience), plus travel, mobility and career exploratory allowances will be offered for 24 month contracts with tenure track perspective.

Please send the curriculum vitae to Dr Emanuela Guerra, Unit of Cancer Pathology, Center for Excellence in Research on Aging, University G. D’ Annunzio, Via Colle dell’ Ara, 66013 Chieti Scalo (Chieti), Italy; Phone: (+39) 0871-541.541, FAX: (+39) 0871-541.551, e-mail m.tintelli@unich.it .
