The Windows Address Book is the default Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) search client that ships with Windows 2000/XP and Microsoft Internet Explorer.
- Install the latest version of Internet Explorer (if it is not currently installed).
- Click Start, point to Programs, point to Accessories, and then click Address Book.

- On the Tools menu, click Accounts.
- To add a new account, click Add. This starts the Internet Connection wizard.

- In the Internet directory (LDAP) server box, type the name of an LDAP server. The server is hosted on Purdue University Cytometry Labs system called vazh.cyto.purdue.edu.
- Click to select the "This server requires me to log on" check box.
- Click Next

- Give your full LDAP identifier in Account name. If your ISAC ID is joe_user, then you should put "uid=joe_user,ou=people,o=isac". Omit the quotation marks. In the Password box, type the appropriate password.

- Click OK to save the changes.
- On the Tools menu click Account, again. Choose the newly created account and click Properties.
- Click Advanced
- In the Search base box type "o=isac".

To search for an ISAC member in ISAC Directory:
- Click Start, point to Programs, point to Accessories, and then click Address Book.
- Click Find People.
- In the Look In box click ISAC (vazh.cyto.purdue.edu)
- Type a user's name or e-mail address, and then click Find Now.
- When the user account is displayed, you can view the user's properties or add the user to the Personal Address Book.
- You may also use Advanced Search, and define additional search criteria.
