SEEKING POSITION IN FLOW CYTOMETRY
RELATED RESEARCH
Qualifications: BSc in Microbiology
(1987 – Cardiff, Wales UK), PhD in Microbiology (Flow cytometric analyses of
bacteria) (1987 – Cardiff, Wales, UK).
Postdoctoral research in
microbiology, cancer research, molecular oncology, photodynamic therapy.
Wide experience of flow cytometry
and related fluorescence techniques including fluorescence and confocal
microscopy, time-lapse video microscopy.
Flow cytometric techniques: many
and varied, including: cell surface proteins, DNA analysis, BrDU labeling,
cyclin analysis, intracellular proteins, (P53 / BCL2), apoptotic assays
(Annexin V, mitochondrial activity, DNA fragmenatation, DNA end-labelling), GFP
fluorescence measurements, mitochondrial activity, drug uptake measurements,
DNA / cell cycle measurements in bacteria, membrane potential measurements in
bacteria.
Establishment of flow cytometry
facilities in both microbiology and cancer research laboratories. Providing
consulatation and training, lectures in flow cytometry, microbiology, molecular
oncology, cell cycle, photodynamic therapy. Assisting in experimental design
and data interpretation, adapting flow cytometric protocols for new
applications.
Currently UK based but prepared to
relocate for right opportunity.
