OBJECTIVE: Obtain a position in a laboratory or Flow Cytometry department

that will allow me to grow in my knowledge base as well as extend my

creativity and work ethic into their environment.

EXPERIENCE:

2000 - 2003

Military Hospital laboratory, Luanda Angola

Receive all daily specimens, prioritize and distribute specimens, process

and stain specimens (peripheral blood, bone marrow and tissue biopsies)

for Flow Cytometry testing, run specimens on Coulter XL, Coulter Elite,

analyze and interpret data for preliminary report and type preliminary

patient result report for manager and pathologist review. Perform all QC

tasks and assist on a daily basis with day to day laboratory operations.

Through my experience and education I contributed many time saving and

efficiency practices into the laboratory for better overall laboratory

operations.

1997 - 2000

FL Consultants Inc. Miami Florida

Consulted on all duties relating to Flow Cytometry for new laboratories.

Specimen receipt, screening and prioritization for proper testing. All

aspects of specimen preparation and processing. Acquisition and analysis

of Flow Cytometry data on patient specimens.

Tests performed: Immunophenotyping (peripheral blood, bone marrow and

tissue biopsies), B and T‑cell phenotyping, CD34 enumeration, PNH,

DNA analysis, cell sorting and numerous research oriented projects.

Equipment skill: Coulter Epics Cell sorters, Elite, FC500, XL 4c,

excellent computer skills (Windows and Mac), Excel, WordPerfect, Cerner

and multiple analysis program systems.

I was involved in the laboratory safety program for a number of years. I

also designed and assisted in implementing numerous time saving and

increased efficiency tools that were implemented to assist in day to day

laboratory operation.

Graduated with a GPA of 3.4.

CERTIFICATIONS:

1987-1995 Certification for ALL Coherent lasers, ALL Coulter Flowcytometry

instruments, plus team member and team leader training. 1999 -

Certification certificate for XL 4 color immunophenotyping operation.
